At present David House is designing a small-scale biogas digester intended for temperate climates, for use with food waste. Between a third and half of all food produced globally is wasted, and most of that produces methane when it decomposes. Relatively recent research shows that methane is a much more powerful greenhouse gas than was previously suspected: up to 105 times more powerful than an equal weight of carbon dioxide. David's present passion is helping others to use the tool of biogas in all places around the equatorial belt, because this source of alternative energy has been shown by many studies to be a powerful catalyst in assisting families and villages to escape poverty.
