Born into a Baha’i family in India. Her mother was a Knight of Bahá’u’lláh and father served on various Bahá’i Committees in an administrative capacity. Family was blessed by going on pilgrimage and having met Shoghi Effendi the Guardian of the Faith Practiced as a lawyer for 40 years having entered the legal profession as the youngest person to have qualified as a Solicitor in the UK and the first Indian woman. Jyoti’is entire career was with Shell where she retired as the Legal Adviser to the Board and their first Group Ethics and Compliance officer for 140 companies in 120 countries. Over the years she was variously Chairman of the Commonwealth Association for Corporate Governance; Director and Honorary Counsel to HRH Prince of Wales Business Leaders’ Forum ; Governor of the College of Law and served on various educational, environmental and health focused charities. At the request of the Universal House of Justice she was a representative for the Baha’i Faith to the UN Conference on Women (Mexico); Racial equality (Geneva) and Anti-Corruption (The Hague and Prague) Jyoti has appeared on several TV and radio programmes speaking about the Faith and legal matters. She has recently produced a book on her mother, Meherangiz Munsiff”s life including her course given on Prayer and Meditation over 20 years titled ‘LIFELINE’ and published by George Ronald.
