Kim Douglas is a writer, educator and transformational writing coach committed to unleashing the voices of women and supporting them to write the stories they were born to share. Writing and sharing our stories of transformation, she believes, are acts of service that can foster unity and inspire personal, professional and social change.
Kim builds upon her 28 years of experiences as a professor of writing. She has served on nonprofit boards to advance women, provide arts education to underserved populations and to promote racial understanding and justice. Kim earned graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of Arizona, received certification as a leader with Feminine Power and as a Health Coach through Sears Wellness Institute. She owns a wellness franchise and leads a national team to inspire healthy living around the world.
An expert at helping women see powerful writing possibilities from their own day-to-day personal and professional experiences, Kim offers online writing workshops designed to provide the support women need to overcome obstacles, develop capacities and launch a strategic plan to write a book, blog, series of poems, memoir or legacy project.
Kim is also a mom of four adult daughters, “Kiki” (grandmother) to four grandsons and wife to David--a supportive and talented partner who spent his career nurturing the hearts and talents of children and youth and currently serves as a leader in developing vibrant and unified communities.
The author of “High Desert: A Journey of Survival and Hope” and a co-author with Kevin Locke of “Arising,” Kim lives and works in Michigan.
