Linda Wlasoff Wilkinson is a third generation Canadian of Doukhobor background. She became a Baha'i at the age of 19 and went on to study English Literature and Education at Simon Fraser University. After teaching in the public school system and then English as a second language in Finland and Quebec, she taught in the International Education program at Selkirk College in Castlegar, BC, for many years. During this period she also received her Master's Degree in Peace Studies. It was at Selkirk College that she and her late husband, Myler Wilkinson, helped establish the Mir Centre for Peace, and the Peace Studies program. Myler passed away in 2020 and chose to be buried in the Doukhobor cemetery. Although not a Baha'i but always a supporter, his funeral was the first Baha'i-Doukhobor service in this region of British Columbia.
