The Spiritual Power of the Feminine Qualities

PRESENTED BY Emily Baldoni | Apr 10, 2017
15 MINS

Actress, activist and Baha’i Emily Baldoni tells the tale of her 35-hour labor during a drug-free home birth—and what it taught her about the strength of her femininity. In that grueling process, she realizes the power of her own feminine qualities, of love, peace and compassion—and also realizes that the masculine power system cannot get us there on its own. Emily outlines the ways those crucial feminine traits, so very often belittled and devalued, can help us all—men and women—seriously question and redefine the way we relate to power.

I don't know how much I agree with the idea that "men and women are wired differently." We all stem from the same combination of sperm and egg. Gender is a social construct. If by saying this you mean genetically then yes, the X and Y chromosome and sexual organs are different. But I would love to learn more about the idea that men and women are wired the same way, both wanting, as you said, harmony and peace in the world.

Such a great message, both by exemplifying the true strength women have to birth naturally but also the need for the balance of both masculine and feminine qualities. I can say that the qualities of love, vulnerability and compassion were the key qualities that set my husband apart from other men who only displayed masculine qualities. Yet in a way, I feel like it makes him a more well-rounded man! Thank you Emily for giving this talk, it's much needed in our power-hungry, love-lacking world.

„As we awaken from the repressions of the patriarchy we need to reclaim the sacred feminine both for our individual spirituality and for the well being of the planet. Our ecological devastation points to a culture that has forgotten the sacredness of the earth and the divine mother, as well as denied the feminine’s deep understanding of the wholeness and interconnectedness of all of life. And our individual life, so often caught in addictions and starved of real meaning, has a hunger to reconnect with the soul, which has always had a feminine quality. And linking our own journey and ...that of the world is the ancient feminine figure of the World Soul, the Anima Mundi, the spiritual presence within creation.“ ~ Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee

Such an inspired presentation. No discrimination but still shown our own gender. I have 5 kids 2 boys & 3 girls. I gave them birth normally without any drugs. My first son even was born at home ?

Thank you for an excellent and much needed presentation! When women and men take on the qualities of both, then will humanity have the ability to soar!
