Throughout the ages people have been challenged, inspired, moved and transformed by the words of the world’s divine educators. With a new podcast, BahaiTeachings.org shares some of these moments of inspiration and the effect they have on people’s lives.
Baha’u’llah, the prophet and founder of the Baha’i Faith, wrote: “Immerse yourselves in the ocean of My words that ye may unravel its secrets, and discover all the pearls of wisdom that lie hid in its depths.”
If we want to go on this search for spiritual meaning, we need to dive into God’s words and search with sincerity and detachment. We can do this by reading and exploring the truth for ourselves — but also in conversation with others, sharing our learnings and reflections.
With this in mind, we are excited to announce the launch of BahaiTeachings.org’s third podcast: “Moments of Meaning” with host Sean Hinton. Sean works for a global foundation leading their work on economic justice and impact investment. He has been a Baha’i all his life and an active member of Baha’i communities on four continents.
In each episode of “Moments of Meaning,” Sean speaks to someone whose life has been profoundly affected by the writings of the Baha’i Faith. Each guest shares with Sean their “moment of meaning” — whether it’s a big life choice, a turning point in their career, an inspiration or an insight. They share the passages from the Baha’i Writings that were part of this moment, and explain the changes this moment inspired in their lives.
This first season, starting on January 29th, will feature many fascinating guests, such as Aku Ntumy, a schoolteacher from Swindon; Roy Steiner, an agricultural development leader from New York; Bahiyyih Nakhjavani, a poet and writer from eastern France; and Rocky Moncho, a health and technology entrepreneur from Oklahoma.
Each shares profound insights acquired throughout their lives and careers, and walk us through the stories of how they made choices, moved through life’s ups and downs, and reflect on where they are in their journey. From discovering their calling, to bringing justice to historically unequal spaces, to finding hope in times of despair, each story shows someone discovering their own “pearls of wisdom” from the Baha’i Writings, reflecting on them and incorporating them into their lives.
Weekly episodes of Moments of Meaning will be available on BahaiTeachings.org, Spotify, Soundcloud and iTunes starting with episode one on Friday, January 29. We invite you to join us on this journey and explore these moments of meaning.
