Angelita
Reyes

Angelita D. Reyes, PhD, is an award-winning author, consultant, and public speaker. Reyes is president of the board of directors of Literacy InterActives, Inc., a nonprofit organization, which promotes that the ability of literacy is more than for reading a book. The interactive literacies of culture, history, and digital technology through creative initiatives and collaborative programs can maximize new directions for social justice. She is the recipient of numerous national grants and awards, including a recent multi-year grant from Virginia Humanities at the University of Virginia, which will fund a digital literacy and historic preservation initiative in rural Virginia. Reyes engages with multiple audiences through academic publications, blogs, digital media presentations, op-eds, curated exhibits, seminars, and video production. Responding to the national awakening regarding systemic racism following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Reyes was a commentator on NPR’s “Weekend Edition.”
