Cultural activist, singer, songwriter and educator Eric Dozier talks and sings about his passion for the power of music to promote healing, justice and racial reconciliation. Eric tells the story of Sam Cooke’s 1963 song A Change is Gonna Come, which drew its inspiration from the righteous rage born of discrimination and oppression. Dozier, the former director of the Harlem Gospel Choir, traces the lineage of Cooke’s famed song through the civil rights songbook, Bob Dylan’s song Blowin’ in the Wind, the old slave song No More Auction Block for Me—all the way back to Baha’u’llah’s injunction a hundred years before to: “be even as one soul, to walk with the same feet, eat with the same mouth and dwell in the same land…”
